Orthotic and Prosthetic Centre

The Orthotics and Prosthetics Centre has been functioning since 1969. Orthotics is applied to the human body as an external artificial object either to support the paralytic part to help or promote the function of the affected part or to correct the deformity e.g. Polio Braces, Club Foot, Scoliosis. Prosthetics is an object which is fitted to the human body as an artificial replacement of the part of the human body e.g. Artificial Leg, Artificial Hand etc.

This workshop has attended to 3,889 patients and manufactured/delivered 4,830 appliances including upper and lower limb prosthetics, splints, braces, orthopedic shoes, etc. Certain silicon items, hyperextension, and lumbosacral corsets are delivered to patients in one visit.
