Pakistan Society for Rehabilitation of Differently Abled

By the Grace of Almighty Allah, we celebrate another successful year at the Pakistan Society for Rehabilitation of Differently Abled (PSRD). This year reflects our renewed commitment to raising awareness about the challenges faced by persons with disabilities. Our efforts extended beyond Lahore, reaching communities where support was needed the most. Today, PSRD proudly operates branches on Ferozepur Road Lahore, Barki Road Lahore, Sharqpur, and Islamabad, with an approximate workforce of 300 dedicated staff members who work tirelessly to serve and empower differently abled individuals.

OUR IMPACT IN THE LAST DECADE

Education

In addition to providing free quality education, PSRD High School offers free books, uniforms, pick-up and drop-off services, and meals to differently abled students. PSRD’s Skill Development Centre is also performing exceptionally well, not only teaching students computer skills and arts and crafts but also enabling them to earn income by producing items on order for commercial brand outlets. From 2005 to 2025, a total of 4,361 students have been admitted to PSRD High School.

Health

This year, approximately 42,000 patients are registered and categorized according to their ability to pay. Of these, nearly 20% receive treatment free of charge, while the remaining patients are treated at highly concessional rates. All patients are attended to with care, while maintaining high-quality standards. The Orthotics & Prosthetics department provided 6,844 appliances to 5,882 patients. The Physiotherapy Centre attended 47,242 patients and 132,000 patients treated with physiotherapy.

Vocational

CBR and VRC are actively providing valuable services to underprivileged men and women with disabilities, enabling them to start their own small businesses. PSRD aims to support them by offering microcredit facilities to help them become self-reliant and financially independent. In addition, these programs provide immunization services, primary education, and vocational training to poor women and children living in the outlying areas of Lahore.
