PSRD Lahore

PRESIDENT’s MESSAGE

Muhammad Saeed Shamsi

President PSRD

It gives me great pleasure to share that our vision of integrating the differently abled into the mainstream of society continues to gain momentum. This year, we have made progress across all areas of our work. A greater number of corrective surgeries were performed, and with the installation of a new Image Intensifier in the Operation Theatre, our doctors can now undertake more intricate procedures. Waiting time for surgical interventions has also been reduced.

Our core strength remains the provision of state-of-the-art Physiotherapy, Occupational, and Speech Therapy services to a growing number of patients. As awareness of these therapies increases, so does the demand – Alhamdulillah, the rate of satisfactory outcomes exceeds ninety percent.

The new Physiotherapy facility on Barki Road will begin operations shortly. Additionally, a generous friend of PSRD has donated a building in Sharaqpur, where an OPD and Physiotherapy Unit are nearing completion.

Our Islamabad Chapter continues to hold monthly health camps. We will once again seek your support to raise the necessary resources to complete the building.
I am excited to share that a workshop on teaching children with the help of AI (Artificial Intelligence) was held to train our High School teachers. Al helps to enhance learning and create more engaging and accessible classroom experiences.

To ensure the differently abled participate in supporting their families, the Skill Development Centre continues computer training and production of shopping bags, gift bags, envelopes and hand made tissue boxes. The Vocational Rehabilitation loan limit for each case has been raised to cater for inflation.

During the year, we lost a senior member of our Board of Governors, Mrs. Zahida Feisal Beig. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. She will be deeply missed.

I would also like to thank the members of the Board for their continued support, and the doctors and all PSRD staff for their dedication and hard work.
